Week 3 & Letter to the Parents

We are currently going through Generation Change which is a 9 week youth edition of Financial Peace University. It is a great study focusing on teaching teens to be who God created, how to do more with their money and preparing them to go out into the world and write their own story.

The Xample group is based off of the Bible verse, 1 Timothy, 4:12- “don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young.  Be an example to all believers in what you say, the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.”

Beginning this Sunday, we are going to be switching things up a little.   Some of our high school teens have taken an interest in partnering with our adult youth leaders to mentor the middle school kids.  These teens are Kenadi Burford, Rachel Coates, Mckenzie Harden & Clay Cox.  They have been with Bridges for a combined total of over 16 years.  They have not only shown leadership skills at Bridges, but in their academic and work life as well.

They will take on a Student Youth Leader role and partner with our Adult Youth Leaders, Sherry Knupp, Krista Davis & Wally Coates.  Doug Francis has reluctantly had to step away from this role due to other ministries he is actively involved in at Bridges.  The plan is to break up into much smaller groups.  This provides a more intimate setting for all kids to be able to discuss their thoughts, ask questions and participate more freely.  We will be focusing on why we are here, and how we are to be a Xample to everybody we come in contact with.

We have prayed for this to be a positive transition and encourage you to talk with your child about this, both before and after our meeting on Sunday evening.  We would really appreciate your feedback after Sunday so we can evaluate how we did and what additional changes we should consider.

As a consideration to all who attend, we ask that you don’t send your child in with caffeinated drinks, Monster, Soda, etc. or sugary snacks.

Also, if they have a bible, please have them to bring it with them.  We would prefer a paper based version as cellphones and electronics tend to be more distracting with this age group.

Our Xample group will still meet on Sundays at 6:00pm, at Shattalon Church of Christ.  We look forward to seeing you Sunday.

Love in Christ,
Wally Coates, Sherry Knupp & Krista Davis

Generation Change! Week 2 - Sunday September 15th 2013

The Xample group had a great kickoff to the Generation Change series last week.  We started off looking at why it is important to "Be Yourself", and how God has placed a value in each of you.

This Sunday we will take a look at why you should "Be Realistic".  Our world is consumed with so much stuff, sometimes it gets hart to keep it all into perspective.

We look forward to seeing each of you Sunday night at 6:00 at Shattalon Church of Christ

Bridges Xample, Middle & High School

Welcome back to school.  I know most of you have had a busy week, but I want to invite each and every one of you to our new fall series, "Generation Change".  This is so much more than just a financial peace series, this is a series that will make you take a look at yourself, and see just how you view yourself being.  ....besides that, we're going to have fun.!

Our first session will be this coming Sunday, at 6:00 p.m.  We will be meeting in the bunker at Shattalon Church of Christ (Same place as last year).  We will start our sessions out together, so everybody come upstairs.  We will have a discussion, then watch a DVD, then break off into small groups for about 30 minutes.  After that, we will all meet back upstairs and enjoy some fun games and good food.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to give me a call at 404-200-7531, or email me at wally@techport13.com

I hope to see you there!

Wally.
